Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG)

Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG)

Working Together to Support Students with Disabilities

Our school is proud to establish a Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) to provide families of students with disabilities with an opportunity to share their experiences, ideas, questions, and suggestions.

The SEPAG will serve as a collaborative forum where parents and school staff can work together to strengthen special education programs, services, and supports for our students.

What is a SEPAG?

A SEPAG is a group of parents and caregivers of students with disabilities who work collaboratively with school administrators and staff to:

  • Share parent perspectives and experiences

  • Provide input regarding special education programs and services

  • Identify areas of need and opportunities for improvement

  • Learn about special education resources, supports, and parent rights

  • Promote meaningful family participation in the special education process

  • Strengthen communication and collaboration between families and the school

Why Join?

Your voice matters. By participating in SEPAG, parents and caregivers can help our school better understand the experiences and needs of students with disabilities and their families.

SEPAG is an opportunity to listen, share, collaborate, and help make a difference in the educational experiences of our students.

Meetings

SEPAG meetings will be held approximately 3–4 times throughout the school year. Meeting dates and times will be shared with participating families.

Meetings will provide opportunities for families to discuss topics related to special education, learn about available resources and supports, and share feedback with school leadership.

We Invite You to Join Us!

We welcome all parents and caregivers of students with disabilities to participate in our SEPAG.

Whether your child currently has an IEP or 504 Plan, receives special education services, or you simply want to learn more and support our school community, your participation is valued.

Together, we can build stronger partnerships between families and our school and continue working toward positive outcomes for every student.
